Some helpful tips.
Most bugs enter through pipes in the basement or crawlspace to get inside. When experiencing a bug problem, make sure the exterminator concentrates around these areas. If necessary, treatment can be used directly on pipes located underneath cabinet sinks. Unless absolutely required, keep the exterminator out of all bedrooms (and as far away from them as possible).
Many pest control companies encourage putting households on a regular treatment schedule. If bugs do not return after the first two applications, the exterminator shouldn’t either. Their services should be used as little as possible — there are effective, natural alternatives such as using boric acid powder.
Herbicides are also harmful to humans, especially small children who have thin skin and virtually no natural hormones. Many kids like to roll around in the grass as they play — when my children were small, I never had my lawn sprayed. I dug up weeds and seeds but never used bug or weed chemicals.
Use bug and weed sprays as little as possible, in as confined an area as possible, as rarely as possible.
